The upper level of that former Milestones restaurant has been turned into office space. The new Swatch store will replace the lower level of what was a Milestones restaurant in the building known as John Robson Place. Eddie Bauer closed its 3,000-square-foot store at 1150 Robson Street. "There's been a few openings, but it's been a bit slow "Ĭactus Club last year closed its restaurant at 1136 Robson Street which had 2,884 square feet on the second floor, and 1,400 square feet on the ground floor. "It's a very welcome addition to the 1100 block or Robson Street, which has seen a few retail closures recently," he said. The stand-alone stores promise to elevate the Swatch brand for consumers while helping the watchmaker profit more by cutting out third-party sellers, Retail Insider Media owner Craig Patterson told BIV. More than 100 retail stores across Canada sell Swatch watches. The company also plans to open a third Toronto store and a first store in Calgary this summer. is at Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby. Its only other Swatch-branded store in B.C. It has 11 stand-alone stores branded Swatch in Canada, including one that recently opened on Government Street in Victoria. has more than a dozen brands, including Omega, Tissot and Longines. The brand is also known to Vancouverites for having a gigantic replica of a Swatch watch at the city's world's fair Expo '86 – an installation in front of the Swiss pavilion that was as tall as an eight-storey building and 20 metres wide, which made it a common meeting spot for fairgoers. This will be a return to Robson Street for Swatch, which decades ago operated a store on Robson Street. I will be back in a bit with some more drawing tutorials so stay tuned. The world's largest watch company plans to once again have a stand-alone Vancouver store under its Swatch brand – a flagship location at 1155 Robson Street set to open in September. I hope you find this online drawing lesson helpful and educational so that you can draw your own skyscraper and be an architect yourself. This tutorial will teach you how easy it is to learn how to draw skyscrapers step by step. Skyscrapers are beautiful pieces of art work that can be appreciated by avid building admires. Some famous skyscrapers today are The Empire State Building (of course) which was built in 1931, The Petronas Twin Towers which is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and of course the two buildings that have made world history, the World Trade Center Twin Towers that were sadly destroyed in 2001. It was designed by an architect named Major William Le Baron Jenney and although the building today isn’t anything really to talk about, he still made American history because he built the first skyscraper in the United States. Did you know that the very first skyscraper ever built was back in 1884? It’s true the first skyscraper was a ten story building built in Chicago called the "Home Insurance Building". The fact is there is no great description on skyscrapers they are just beautifully designed works of architectural art built by various architectures. A building that is only 180 feet high can still be called a skyscraper if it is taller relative to all the other buildings in the city. For those of you that are not quite sure on what a skyscraper is let me explain a skyscraper is a tall continuously operational building structure that is made based on a city's overall skyline. One of the popular of all places in the Unites States that have these types of buildings is New York City. As you know only big cities have these enormous buildings that we call skyscrapers. I personally think that I accomplished that feat with my building shown here. When I drew out that comic I wanted my skyscraper to look real, high, and overwhelming. For those of you that have seen my latest artwork submission, you will also notice that this skyscraper that you will be learning how to draw is from my comic that I drew a few days ago. In this next tutorial I will be showing you how to draw a skyscraper step by step. Both drawing lessons were super cool and easy to do. Well so far today I have shown you how to draw a Cadillac Escalade and a Louis Elise.
